Open access (OA) in the Global North is considered to solve an accessibility problem scholarly communication. But this restricted consumption of knowledge. Epistemic injustices inhering communication a global production knowledge remain unchanged. This underscores that commercial or big deal OA dominating Europe and America have little revolutionary potential democratise Academia North, driven by politics progressive neoliberalism, can even reinforce its hegemonic power solidifying legitimating contemporary hierarchies through OA.
